MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Student must have and maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 or greater.
  • Student must have an attempted hour/earned hour completion rate of 80 percent. Unless the student is a double major or a transfer student, he/she should not have attempted more than 126 hours.
  • Student must be enrolled full-time (undergrad-12hrs, graduate-9hrs) in the current session to be eligible for employment. (For summer sessions, if not enrolled in a summer session you must be registered for the upcoming fall semester).

 

  • Student must have a good judicial standing as determined by the University Student Conduct Office.
  • Student must submit a current academic schedule.
  • Student must complete application for employment (only applications that have been typed and signed will be accepted).
  • Student must submit an unofficial transcript.
  • Student must submit a current resume.

OPEN POSITIONS

STUDENT OFFICE SUPPORT

The student office support staff will be responsible for office related tasks in assisting the University Event Center with clerical duties. These duties are to include but not limited to, receiving incoming calls, greeting customers/guests, managing filing systems, recording information, organizing and maintaining office areas, maintaining office documents, navigating 25 live scheduling database to assist customers as well as completing assigned projects by the office manager.

Students will be required to become familiar with the University Event Center Policies and Procedures, attend meetings and professional development opportunities, attend work according to schedule, and represent the department in a professional manner.

Student Event Scheduling Staff

Responsible for assisting the full-time staff with the processing, scheduling and managing of events via 25 Live scheduling database. Correspond with customers via email, phone and in person, help facilitate 25 Live training's for campus users; assist with the coordination of services required to execute scheduled events. Additional projects may include but are not limited to creating diagrams and charts, editing University Event Center documents, developing power points, maintaining and updating 25 Live database.

Students will be required to become familiar with the University Event Center Policies and Procedures, attend meetings and professional development opportunities, attend work according to schedule, and represent the department in a professional manner.

Student Event Staff

The primary responsibility of a Student Event Staff member is to provide support and assistance with the execution of all campus events and enforce UEC policies and procedures. This support includes, but is not limited to assisting with crowd control, transport (via university vehicles), setup, and breakdown of event related equipment and technology.

Event staff will interact directly with student organizations, campus departments and administrate offices and provide assistance as needed. This person will need to be able to solve on the job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations.

STUDENT EVENT MANAGER

The primary responsibility of a Student Event Manager is to provide event supervision, support and assistance with the execution of all campus events. Student Managers will also assist professional staff to train new students, enforce UEC policies and procedures and perform facility upkeep. This position includes, but is not limited to assisting with inventory, delegating task, crowd control, completing event reports, transport (via university vehicles), setup, and breakdown of event related equipment and technology.

Event Managers will interact directly with student organizations, campus departments, administrate offices and the community whiling acting as the initial point of contact. This person will need to be able to solve on the job issues by utilizing effective critical thinking and decision making skills and possess the ability to work with diverse populations.
