Tau Sigma is a national honor society created exclusively for transfer students and is an academic society designed specifically to "recognize and promote the academic excellence and involvement of transfer students."

The Gamma Tau Chapter of Tau Sigma National Honor Society at North Carolina A&T State University:

• Provides motivation for academic excellence of all incoming transfer students

• Enhances the reputation of all transfer students; promotes the involvement of transfer students

• Helps to form a group of students who can help address and meet the needs of new incoming transfer students

• Tau Sigma also provides a common bond and a sense of community among transfer students
